What can I expect at riding camp?
Twin Rivers is a great place for campers to learn to ride or improve their riding skills in an indoor environment and learn all about horses. We invite campers of all different levels of ability to these week-long day camps.
Each camp will run Monday to Friday from 9am until till noon and each session will be broken into two categories:
1. Riding Lessons
2. Horse Care and Stable Management
Which level is appropriate for my child?
Beginner: (little or no riding experience) This level is for any camper who has not taken any riding lessons. Campers will be taught safety first, grooming, working around horses, proper leading, tacking and untacking. The riding lessons will include mounting, correct position on the horse, controlling the horse in walk and trot as well stable management.
Intermediate: (can walk, improving trot and learning to canter, but needs to improve riding skills) This level is for campers who have had formal riding lessons, can tack and untack, has good control of their horse in walk and trot and are working on their riding position, basic aides and learning to canter.
Advanced Intermediate: (can walk, trot and canter, started jumping cross poles, has had some formal instruction) Campers can expect to focus on increased control, cantering and two point position. Beginning basic jumping techniques.
Advanced: (extensive previous experience and instruction, good form and control over fences) Campers who have formal instruction will continue to work on advanced riding and jumping techniques.
What should I wear?

Riding helmets can be supplied by Twin Rivers but campers looking to continue riding are encouraged to purchase their own.
